What to include in your message
To help us resolve your issue as quickly as possible, please include the following details in your email:
- A brief description of the problem or question you have
- Your browser name and version (for example, Chrome 120 on macOS)
- Steps to reproduce the issue, if applicable
- Screenshots or screen recordings that show the behavior
The more context you provide, the faster we can identify and fix the problem.
Response time
We aim to respond within one business day. Urgent issues — such as problems accessing your data, the new tab not loading, or tasks disappearing — are prioritized and typically addressed within a few hours.
Self-service troubleshooting
Before reaching out, you can try these common fixes that resolve most issues:
- Disable and re-enable the Montella extension in
chrome://extensions - Clear the extension's storage data from Chrome settings
- Uninstall and reinstall Montella from the Chrome Web Store
- Make sure your Chrome browser is up to date
Feature requests
Have an idea that would make Montella better? We welcome feature requests. Send us an email describing your idea and how it would improve your workflow. Community suggestions have shaped many of the features Montella has today, including nested projects and cross-project task linking.
Data recovery
Because Montella stores all data locally in your browser, clearing browser data or uninstalling the extension will remove your tasks. We strongly recommend using the one-click JSON export in Settings to back up your boards regularly. If you have a backup file, you can restore your data instantly by importing it through the Settings dialog.
